How long will it take to treat my nail fungus?

In order to treat nail fungus, the matrix or root of the nail needs to be cleared of the fungal infection.  Once thisoccurs, a new, clear nail will begin to grow. Fingernails take six months while toenails take approximately one year to fully grow out. Therefore, if there is fungal infection of the entire toenail, it may take up to a year to grow a new  clear nail. If only the end of the nail is infected, it will clear in the time that portion of the nail needs to grow.
